Relay for Life: research, education, advocacy, service. What is Relay for Life? Relay for Life is the main fund-raising event for the American Cancer Society. It offers individuals an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of 10 to 15 people will camp out at Gulf View Middle School's track and will take turns walking from 6:00 pm Friday, April 16, until 10:00 am Saturday, April 17, 2010. This very emotional event brings people together to honor those who have lost their lives to cancer, to celebrate those who have survived the disease, and to raise money for research, education, advocacy, and patient services. The team commitment fee is $150 through December 1; $175 beginning December 2. This fee goes toward your team's goal. Checks are to be made payable to the American Cancer Society. Each team registers on-line by going to www.relayforlife.org/naplesfl. For anyone interested in organizing a Relay for Life team, please contact Patricia Freydberg at naplespatricia@comcast.net or by phone at 239-594-9382 (home) or 239-537-4475 (cell). She will be your team's mentor. |
